ITINERARY
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Arusha. You will drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds, baobab trees, and diverse wildlife.
Enjoy a full-day game drive where you may see lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and many bird species. The Tarangire River attracts animals year-round, offering excellent viewing opportunities.
Lunch will be a picnic inside the park. After the afternoon game drive, you will drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight:
Karatu Tented Lodge – Midrange Lodge, Karatu, near Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
After breakfast at Karatu Tented Lodge, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater rim for panoramic views.
Descend about 600 meters into the crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is home to over 25,000 animals and offers a high chance to see the Big Five, including the rare black rhino.
During the game drive, explore open grasslands, acacia forests, and the soda lake with flamingos.
Enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool. After the drive, return to Karatu Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, depart for Lake Eyasi to visit the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes.
- The Hadzabe are one of the last hunter-gatherer communities in East Africa. You will learn about their hunting techniques, food gathering, and daily life.
- The Datoga tribe is known for blacksmithing and rich cultural traditions.
After the cultural visit, begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
