A day of incredible contrasts begins with a scenic drive out of Ndutu to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area gate, followed by a dramatic descent 600 meters down into the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. This self-contained natural wonder is an animal paradise, often called the ‘Garden of Eden,’ where you can expect to encounter an astonishing density of wildlife, including the rare and endangered Black Rhino, along with huge populations of lion, elephant, and hippo. Lunch will be a picnic taken on the crater floor at the famous Hippo Pool Picnic Site, before ascending the crater rim and driving back to the comfortable Ngorongoro Marera Mountain View Lodge for your final safari night.
